Micronutrients are needed only in small quantities by the body, but are absolutely essential for our well-being. Deficiency of micronutrients or micronutrient malnutrition, (also known as hidden hunger), is therefore a serious health risk. One way to address this is through the addition of micronutrients into food staples, called fortified foods. These foods are identified by the 'F Plus' logo that they carry. The FSSAI outlines standards and quality parameters for fortified foods.
