Road Safety- Policy in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu's Road Safety Policy has some notable strengths, like setting time targets and highlighting the need for better data collection. However, it lacks clear strategies for putting its plans into action and hasn’t been updated since its initial formulation. It’s time for a fresh update to make our roads safer and more effective.

Sustainable Transport- Best Practices (Singapore)

Singapore has an excellent strategy to improve public transportation, starting with a strong emphasis on affordability and reliability. To further reduce private vehicle usage, they introduced a car-lite policy to discourage car ownership. These well-coordinated efforts have led to the development of a superior public transportation system. Let’s take a cue from Singapore’s effective approach to transportation policies.

Evaluating the efficacy of the Meendum Manjappai campaign

This report details CAG's findings on the impact of the Meendum Manjappai campaign on both consumers and vendors, with the study covering eight districts in Tamil Nadu. Meendum Manjappai is a flagship campaign of the Government of Tamil Nadu which promotes the use of cloth bags, thus reducing the reliance on single-use plastic (SUP) carry bags in the state.
