CAG organised a Solar Mela at Maathayen Thirumana Mandapam, Salem on 15th August 2026. The Solar Mela brought solar vendors, banks and EB officials together on a single platform, enabling consumers to explore rooftop solar options, compare solutions and clarify their queries directly with relevant stakeholders.

The event saw participation from 11 solar vendors and 2 banks, with 100+ consumers from across the district visiting the Mela and engaging with stakeholders for their rooftop solar requirements.

In India, road crashes claim nearly 150,000 lives each year. As part of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, CAG held an awareness programme at Government ITI college, Salem. The Assistant Commissioner of Police delivered a powerful address on road discipline, the dangers of speeding and the important role of youth in shaping safer streets. The event aimed to create stronger road safety awareness among students.
