In observance of the World Day of Remembrance, the Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and Tamil Nadu Consumer Protection & Environmental Research Centre (TNCPERC) organised a road safety awareness event at the Global College in Thiruvarur. With around 100 participants, the event focused on educating college students about safe driving practices, the importance of following traffic rules, and the consequences of reckless driving. The session concluded with students taking a pledge to prioritise road safety and protect lives on the road.

CAG's Kuppai Thiruvizha celebrated the city's zero-waste possibilities. The event marked Climate Action Month, a series of events across the city, designed to make the young and old alike think about the problem of waste.

Speaking at the inaugural event of CAG's Climate Action Month 2024, Mr. G. Sundarrajan, Poovulagin Nanbargal, explained that unless governments develop robust disaster management policies, and effective climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, natural disasters will continue wreaking havoc on entire communities.

CAG in collaboration with the Consumer Rights Movement, hosted a media workshop in Salem, Tamil Nadu, engaging editors, reporters, and media experts to enhance stakeholder participation in advancing clean energy governance.

CAG and SINAM recently hosted a multi-stakeholder consultation on 'Hypertension Care and Control in Tiruvannamalai.' The event highlighted study findings on patients' experiences at primary health centers in the district. Key outcomes and potential improvements were discussed with health department officials, doctors, and civil society organisations to enhance hypertension treatment implementation.

Mr. Uttam Kumar, Irrigation Minister, speaking at the media workshop on “Clean Energy Transition in India: Focus on Telangana”, jointly organised by the Press Club Hyderabad, Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group (CAG), Chennai, and People’s Monitoring Group on Electricity Regulation (PMGER) assured people that the government was open for a panel on environment and sustainable development to tackle global warming.

The capacity building workshop for Salem's electricity consumers conducted by CAG was well attended. Resources developed by CAG to build consumer awareness on safe, and sustainable electricity consumption were distributed at the event.
