CAG, in association with Press Institute of India (PII), organized an online media workshop on Trans fats on March 26, 2021 to inform the media and to spread message about the harmful effects of trans fat and its regulation. The speakers of the workshop were Dr. Sumitra Shanmugham Obstetrician-Gyanaecologist, who explained the need to avoid trans fat consumption right from childhood; Ms. Rina Mukherji - senior journalist, explained that using data, facts and statistics were the best way to convey trans fat related information; Mr Dakshinamoorthy, News Reporter, who spoke about the possible ways of how any news can get published and Dr Somasundaram, Designated Officer, Food Safety Department, Chennai said that the state government is committed to this vast and crucial issue and is working to strengthen the implementation of the regulations. #TransFats #RUCO #fssai #CAGChennai
