Electricity Consumer Cell (ECC) Tiruvannamalai in association with Sadayanodai Ilaignar Narpani Mandram (SINAM) organized a capacity building Programme on the title “Energy Efficiency” at Hotel Ramakrishna, Tiruvannamalai on June 19, 2018. Electricity Consumer Cell (ECC) Tiruvallur in association with Madras Metropolitan Consumer Rights Protection Centre (MMCRPC) organized a capacity building programme at Samudhayakoodam, Kaluthumedu Village, Pazhaverkkadu Taluk, Tiruvallur District on June 23, 2018. The programme was organized by Mr.Dhanraj(ECC Coordinator), Mr.Nagarajan (ECC Organiser), Mr.V.Ashokan (ECC Advisor). Mr. Dhanraj, Coordinator, ECC Tiruvallur, gave an introduction to the programme. He welcomed the EB staffs and participants of the Pazhaverkadu Taluk.

Capacity Building Programme on Energy Governance – Tirunelveli

Electricity Consumer Cell (ECC), Tirunelveli, organized a capacity building programme on “Energy Governance” on June 21, 2018, at Tirunelveli Electricity Board Workers Retired Association, Thiyagarajar Nagar, Tirunelveli. The purpose of the programme was to build consumer awareness on energy conservation and to educate them about energy-efficient devices at the household level. Consumer groups, civil society organizations, and local residents participated in the programme.

Electricity Consumer Cell (ECC) Salem in association with Salem Consumer Voice conducted outreach meetings at Karungalpatti (June 15, 2018) and Vellalapatti (June 25, 2018). The objective of the meetings was to create awareness on ECC, educate consumers about electricity rights, safety and governance to the participants. Agricultural consumers and domestic consumers participated in the meeting.

Electricity Consumer Cell-Tiruvannamalai, in association with Sadayanodai Ilaignar Narpani Mandram, conducted outreach meetings at Thurinjapuram (June 13, 2018) and Konalur (June 14, 2018) villages of Tiruvannamalai district. The meeting for organized by Mr. Rama Perumal, Secretary SINAM, Mr. Ashokan (ECC coordinator), Mr. Anandan (ECC Advisor). The objective of the meeting was to educate consumers on electricity rights, energy governance and to create awareness about ECC.

Water Consumption data from Thermal Power Plants

In a thermal power plant (TPP), water is used for various purposes such as in the boiler, cooling system, and coal and ash handling systems, with the bulk of the quantity being used in the cooling system. As per Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2017, notified by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), all new plants installed after January 1, 2017, should not consume more than 3m3/MWh power produced.
