Based on our report, Moving Without Barriers, which documents the mobility challenges faced by persons with disabilities and senior citizens in Chennai, this pamphlet has been developed to creatively present the report’s key findings and personal stories. It brings lived experiences to the forefront, making the challenges of navigating Chennai’s streets more relatable and accessible to a wider audience.
The pamphlet can be used as an awareness and advocacy tool to highlight the urgent need for streets and public spaces to be designed using universal design principles creating environments that are safe, inclusive, and accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. Ultimately, accessibility should not be an afterthought. Our streets must work for 100% of the population.
