CAG organised a stakeholder workshop in Salem to promote rooftop solar adoption in Tamil Nadu, bringing together consumers, TNPDCL officials, media representatives, financial institutions, and solar developers. The key goal of the workshop was to encourage more residents across Salem to switch to solar energy.
As part of Climate Action Month 2025, CAG conducted an awareness campaign on climate change at Gummidipondi through a puppet show, encouraging viewers to reduce plastics, segregate their waste, plant trees, and practice sustainable consumption.
Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in collaboration with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), and support of Salem Consumer Rights Movement organised a consumer awareness programme on telecom services on July 8, 2025, at the School of Allied Health Sciences, Veerapandi, Salem. Mr. Subramani from CAG highlighted TRAI’s key consumer initiatives, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the importance of cyber safety. Mr. B. Senthil Kumar, Lead District Manager, Salem, delivered a special address on digital financial services.
In observance of the World Day of Remembrance, the Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and Tamil Nadu Consumer Protection & Environmental Research Centre (TNCPERC) organised a road safety awareness event at the Global College in Thiruvarur. With around 100 participants, the event focused on educating college students about safe driving practices, the importance of following traffic rules, and the consequences of reckless driving. The session concluded with students taking a pledge to prioritise road safety and protect lives on the road.
CAG and SINAM recently hosted a multi-stakeholder consultation on 'Hypertension Care and Control in Tiruvannamalai.' The event highlighted study findings on patients' experiences at primary health centers in the district. Key outcomes and potential improvements were discussed with health department officials, doctors, and civil society organisations to enhance hypertension treatment implementation.

Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group (CAG) in collaboration with the Social Consumer Rights Movement, Salem and the Tirunelveli District Consumer Awareness Movement conducted media workshops for journalists, journalism students and other media professionals focusing on the benefits and challenges of sustainable transportation in Tamil Nadu at Salem and Tirunelveli. The workshops highlighted the crucial role of media coverage in urban sustainable road infrastructure development.
A commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was held in Tirunelvelli and Thiruvarur. The aim was to sensitise young drivers about the consequences of not keeping road rules.
CAG's regional meeting on 'Non-communicable diseases and the need for warning labels on the front of processed food products' brought together different stakeholders to discuss the urgent action needed to help consumers make informed food choices.
