The management and faculty at Dr.P.Venkataramana Higher Secondary School, Pughs Road were interested in managing their waste better. CAG researchers undertake a waste and brand audit, and the results showed practical ways to manage their organic waste in situ and reduce all inorganic waste.

As part of its Zero Waste Cities effort, CAG is working to establish a zero waste system that is decentralised, waste is collected in a segregated manner at the doorstep, and managed within the community. This report presents the research objectives, initial challenges, and how the team navigated these.

This report talks about the toxic chemicals in the form of heavy metals and volatile organic compounds which have been found in Kodungaiyur through sampling tests and the negative impacts of the same.
