In commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (20.11.2025), an awareness programme was jointly organised by Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and Shelter Trust at Dr Ambedkar Government Law College.
The event was attended by Dr Kayalvizhi, Principal of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, Mr Neelakandan, trainer from Alert NGO, Mr Mohan from CAG, and Mr Selvam, social worker, and Mr Vishwa, volunteer, representing Shelter Trust.
Presiding over the event, Principal Dr Kayalvizhi spoke about the importance of learning life skills alongside legal education, highlighting the severe impact and lasting pain caused by road accidents. She urged students to follow traffic rules with utmost responsibility and caution.
Following this, Mr Neelakandan from Alert NGO conducted a practical demonstration on providing first aid to road accident victims. He also spoke about the “Golden Hour”, emphasising its critical role in saving the lives of accident victims.
Mr Mohan from CAG and Mr Selvam from Shelter Trust also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of road safety.
Finally, Professor Mr Kubenthiran of the college delivered the vote of thanks.
