CAG, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission, implemented a dynamic awareness programme across communities and schools near Ennore Creek, Pallikaranai Marsh, and Pulicat Lake, using folk arts, puppet shows, competitions, and IEC tools to make wetland knowledge engaging and accessible. The initiative reached over 1,170 students and 300 community members, raising overall wetland awareness from 40.1% to 74.1% and demonstrating the power of participatory communication in strengthening environmental stewardship.

Wetlands are living systems that sustain wildlife, protect communities, and support our economy. These posters highlight how wetlands function, the threats they face, and the vital value they provide—revealing why their protection is essential for our future.

According to MoRTH, the number of children who lost their lives in road accidents rose from 7,764 in 2021 to 9,528 in 2022. One effective strategy to decrease child fatalities is to establish safe school zones. Thoughtful road design and consistent enforcement of rules around school zones can help reduce injuries to children. 

Rooftop Solar PV Awareness Workshop - Residents of Kasturba Nagar Association

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and ASAR Social Impact Advisors, in collaboration with the Residents of Kasturba Nagar Association (RoKA), organized a Rooftop Solar PV Awareness Workshop on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at KNRA Community Hall, Adyar. The event, held from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, saw the participation of 24 residents from Kasturba Nagar and nearby communities. 

Workshop Overview  

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) organized a network meeting in Bangalore on February 22, 2025. This meeting brought together partners from various states in India, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Tripura who had been part of the "Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in India" project.

This report highlights the findings from a survey of the general public’s understanding of road safety issues and rules.  The report sheds light on public perceptions of critical issues like speeding, road safety, pedestrian safety, and awareness of traffic rules. It also provides actionable recommendations to enhance road safety in the State and serve as a guiding framework for policymakers and stakeholders.

CAG has submitted comments to the Secretary of  Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, on the Draft SMW Rules 2024.
