Madras Day - CAG and Blood Banks

In 1987, CAG conducted an investigative study into Madras' blood banks. The findings from the study resulted in more blood banks being licensed, prosecution of unlicensed blood banks and guidelines for functioning of blood banks  included in their protocols.

Today, Chennai remains at the forefront of medical care; this has been through the efforts of professionals, civil society organisations, and the government which have together created the excellence in medical care that we enjoy today.
