Media Capacity Workshop - Report
Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in association with Poovulagin Nanbargal and Asar Social Impact Advisors organised a media capacity workshop at the Raintree Hotel, Alwarpet on 15th May 2025. The workshop saw the participation of 30 media representatives, including reporters and radio representatives from various media houses in Chennai. The participants were provided with IEC materials.
"Tamil Nadu's Solar Energy Policy and Regulations: A Consumer’s Guide" provides a clear and accessible overview of the state’s key solar policies and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on the Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Policy 2019 and the 2021 Grid Interactive Solar PV Energy Generating Systems Regulations. The guide explains grid integration mechanisms such as Net Metering, Net Billing (Feed-in), and Gross Metering, outlining their eligibility criteria, capacity limits, billing methods, and available incentives.
"Residential Rooftop Solar PV Systems Technical Guide" offers in-depth technical guidance for consumers on the installation and operation of grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems. The guide explains how solar PV systems work and details key components such as solar panels (including advanced cell technologies like Mono PERC and TOPCon), inverters, AC/DC distribution boxes, cabling, earthing, lightning protection, and module mounting structures.
