In ancient Tamil thought, land was not just a setting for human life but a living companion. Sangam literature used the idea of Thinai to describe an ecological and cultural landscape where people, land, climate, emotions, and livelihoods were seen as one connected system. The five Thinais, Kurinji (mountains), Mullai (pastoral forests), Marutham (farmland), Neithal (coastal life), and Palai (arid land), were not just terrains but ways of living in balance with nature.

Young people are not only victims of climate change. They are also valuable contributors to climate action. Based on this CAG has conducted a 12 week-long (June 2021 to September 2021) survey on "Measuring Sustainable Lifestyle Status of College students in Chennai" in collaboration with SSN College of Engineering. In addition to sharing the results during this webinar, CAG has emphasized the students to work on the principles of 'reflect, switch and demand' to make meaningful contributions to reduce the impacts of climate change.
