Abarna is a Researcher with the Environment and Climate Action team where she contributes to research and initiatives related to environmental and climate action, including work on climate governance and institutional preparedness.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and has over two years of experience in research, programme implementation, and community engagement, with a focus on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Her previous experience includes field-based research, stakeholder coordination, programme monitoring, behaviour change communication, and the development of research and knowledge products. She has contributed to training modules on sustainable and climate-resilient urban sanitation and Gender, Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in sanitation.

Aswin supports and organises consumer outreach and awareness activities on renewable energy across the state, engaging directly with communities and coordinating with RWAs, technical experts, and other stakeholders to help consumers make informed decisions on solar adoption. He also documents field insights and consumer interactions to inform CAG's ongoing efforts on electricity governance, offering support and assistance to the wider team as needed. He has a background in political science and experience in  community development (sustainable water management), with a focus on local-level implementation.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Political Science and Administration.

Based on our report, Moving Without Barriers, which documents the mobility challenges faced by persons with disabilities and senior citizens in Chennai, this pamphlet has been developed to creatively present the report’s key findings and personal stories. It brings lived experiences to the forefront, making the challenges of navigating Chennai’s streets more relatable and accessible to a wider audience.
