Consumer Protection is one of CAG's core areas of work and as part of our efforts to educate and inform consumers on various consumer issues and related happenings, including our own activities, we publish "Consumer Update", a bi-monthly e-newsletter.
Singapore has an excellent strategy to improve public transportation, starting with a strong emphasis on affordability and reliability. To further reduce private vehicle usage, they introduced a car-lite policy to discourage car ownership. These well-coordinated efforts have led to the development of a superior public transportation system. Let’s take a cue from Singapore’s effective approach to transportation policies.

This report details CAG's findings on the impact of the Meendum Manjappai campaign on both consumers and vendors, with the study covering eight districts in Tamil Nadu. Meendum Manjappai is a flagship campaign of the Government of Tamil Nadu which promotes the use of cloth bags, thus reducing the reliance on single-use plastic (SUP) carry bags in the state.
