Impact assessment report on climate change curriculum in Tamil

The Tamil version of our FOCUS textbook (Climate Change Curriculum for students in grades 6-8) has been piloted in five districts in Tamil Nadu. The findings showed the textbook has brought transformative outcomes, including heightened awareness among students, innovative teaching methods & renewed enthusiasm among educators, marking a significant advancement in climate education in the region. The impact assessment report summarises the findings from the pilot.

A study on use of digital financial services

Road Safety Month, 2024

To mark National Road Safety Month, observed between January 15 and February 14, CAG conducted road safety awareness programs in three schools - Sri Gurumurthy Vidyalaya High School in Kodungaiyur; Don Bosco Matric Hr.Sec.School in Erukkancheri; and Chennai Middle School in Perambur on 2nd, 8th and 9th of February, 2024 respectively. 

In all three schools the audience encompassed students ranging from the 6th to the 10th standards, reflecting a diverse group of young minds eager to engage with the road safety initiative.

Multistakeholder forum on Sustainable production and consumption

The need for climate action becomes urgent with every passing second we go on about business as usual. It is high time we rethink and reshape the way we produce and consume in this day and age. CAG organised a Multistakeholder Forum on Sustainable Production and Consumption in Chennai on 23 and 24 March. Fair Fares: Towards Gender-Inclusive Public Transport

CAG surveyed 3000 women across 6 cities to understand the impact of the fare-free public transport scheme for women launched by the Tamil Nadu government. The study found that women were able to save an average of  Rs 601 to Rs 800 per month as a result of this scheme. Additionally, the study highlighted that the saved transportation expenses were predominantly invested in the family. Find out more from the full report.
