CAG in collaboration with Consumer Rights Movement, Salem conducted a regional media workshop in Salem on the 25th of September, 2022. The workshop aimed at underlining the need for implementation of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act (MVAA) 2019 and sensitizing media reporters to cover road crashes more effectively. The workshop witnessed the participation of over 30 media personnel, inclusive of senior reporters and journalists.

They food that we throw away could have helped any of the 811 million people that live in hunger. Need more evidence on why food waste is wrong? Greenhouse gases are generated at every stage of food production. But food waste ending in #landfills is especially harmful. Food is organic matter and will biodegrade fully. But in a landfill, deprived of oxygen, they undergo anaerobic decomposition resulting in the production of methane, a gas 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Free public transport, especially for women, empowers, allows for some fiscal savings, and increases mobility & participation in the workforce. But to ensure sustainable, equitable transport for all, Chennai needs to improve its public transport services, its infrastructure, develop an integrated system, and ensure funding so the transit network is affordable for all.
