Delving into the environmental attitudes of college students in Tamil Nadu, our study reveals that students have a fondness for nature, a commitment to conservation, but show neutrality on key issues such as eco centric concern. Women’s visibility in public spaces is constrained by societal norms. Women are discouraged from going out, especially if there is no chore or household responsibility behind the journey. This affects how women are perceived in public spaces. Increased use of public transport by women for various purposes, improves their visibility in public spaces, and helps redefine societal norms.
