Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in collaboration with Solar Advisory Units of Salem, Madurai, Thiruvarur and Dindigul organised outreach meetings on rooftop solar PV systems. The Solar Advisory Unit is an initiative by CAG, comprising a solar expert and a coordinator with the aim of guiding consumers on solar system-related enquiries. The Solar Advisory Units are currently functioning in Madurai, Salem, Dindigul and Thiruvarur districts.

CAG, in collaboration with Solar Advisory Unit - Salem, organised a stakeholder meeting on the adoption of rooftop solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. The event was held on 22nd September 2025 at Hotel Kasi’s Inn, Salem. The main objective of the meeting was to raise awareness among consumers about solar energy, including subsidy schemes, loan options, and the procedures for installation. The meeting had participants from solar developers, financial institutions, Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Company Limited officials, and media representatives.

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) conducted a Rooftop Solar Awareness Workshop at Vaidyanathan Street, Shenoy Nagar on Wednesday , 24 September, from 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM. The workshop was attended by approximately 20 participants (all living in independent homes) from Shenoy Nagar.
Workshop Overview
This Detailed Energy Audit Report identifies considerable potential for energy and cost savings at the Ludhua Tea Factory. With thermal energy primarily sourced from Meghalaya coal, energy expenditure constitutes approximately 65% of the factory's made tea production cost. The report details 10 conservation proposals, including 3 Cost Conservation Proposals (CCPs) and 7 Energy Conservation Proposals (ECPs). The cumulative impact of these recommendations is an estimated overall cost reduction of 38%, leading to annual savings of ₹11.9 lakhs.
