In commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (20.11.2025), an awareness programme was jointly organised by Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and Shelter Trust at Dr Ambedkar Government Law College.

The event was attended by Dr Kayalvizhi, Principal of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, Mr Neelakandan, trainer from Alert NGO, Mr Mohan from CAG, and Mr Selvam, social worker, and Mr Vishwa, volunteer, representing Shelter Trust.

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in collaboration with Columbans Anglo Indian School, Parrys George Town, Chennai, organised a Rooftop Solar PV awareness workshop on Thursday, November 6, 2025 and Friday , November 7, 2025. The event took place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and was attended by 250 parents from the Surrounding area.

CAG submitted comments on the Draft Amendment to the EIA Notification, 2006, which proposes exempting Common Municipal Solid Waste Management Facilities, including landfills and Waste-to-Energy plants, from prior environmental clearance. CAG’s experience in urban waste, environmental health, and climate governance highlights the need to ensure the framework remains robust, inclusive, and evidence-based to help strengthen the environmental safeguard architecture while enabling effective waste management systems nationwide.

CAG has submitted its comments on the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2025 to ensure that consumer rights, affordability, and equitable access remain central to power sector reforms. The submission emphasizes consumer choice, protection for vulnerable users, transparent tariff practices, and fair competition among electricity suppliers.

Rooftop Solar PV Awareness Workshop - Ponnambalam Colony , KK Nagar

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), Asar and Poovulagin Nanbargal organized a Rooftop Solar PV Awareness Workshop on Thursday,30 October, 2025, at MGR Nagar, Ponnambalam Colony, KK Nagar. The event, held from 2:30PM to 4:30 PM, saw the participation of 15 residents from KK Nagar.

Rooftop Solar Awareness Workshop - Surinova

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in collaboration with Surinova, organised a Rooftop Solar awareness workshop on Thursday , October 30, 2025, at the Surinova office, Ekkatuthangal, Chennai The event took place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and was attended by employees of Surinova 

Workshop Overview  

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), Asar and Poovulagin Nanbargal organised a rooftop solar awareness workshop at Ayanavaram, Chennai. The event took place on Sunday, 31 August, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Around 30 participants from Ayanavaram and nearby areas attended the session, with most of them being independent home owners.  

The Expert Consultation on the Road Safety Action Plan for Tamil Nadu, organised by Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), brought together experts and stakeholders from diverse sectors to deliberate on strategies for strengthening road safety across the state. The consultation sought to identify actionable priorities, enhance data-driven decision-making, and promote coordinated implementation of safety measures.

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), in collaboration with Solar Advisory Units of Salem, Madurai and Dindigul, organised outreach meetings on rooftop solar PV systems. The Solar Advisory Unit is an initiative by CAG, with each unit comprising a solar expert and a coordinator. The aim is to guide consumers with reliable information on solar system-related enquiries.
