Going car-free when travelling locally can greatly impact congestion at the city level. Why not work together with other families in your neighbourhood to go car-free? If it sounds like too much to do all day, everyday, why not start small? Consider car-free weekends. Or car-free Saturdays. Walking and cycling is better for your health, for the environment and especially for those children who are losing their freedom to play on the streets.
Food is an important part of our celebrations, but keep your celebratory cooking #transfatfree. #Reuse used cooking oil, processed foods & bakery products are typically high in #transfats. Avoid these. Trans fats are implicated in the incidence of several diseases such as heart diseases, cancers & Alzheimers. Keep Safe! Celebrate without transfats! #Pongal2023

The most recent #roadsafety report by MoRTH shows that #pedestrians form 18.9% of those that were killed in #roadaccidents in 2021. This is an alarming figure & one that has risen steadily over the last few years (17.1% in 2019, and 17.8% in 2020). We need policies that actively discourage motorists & promote pedestrian safety. #NationalPedestrianDay is a time to remind ourselves of all the things we can do differently to make our roads safer for pedestrians.
Consumer Protection is one of CAG's core areas of work and as part of our efforts to educate and inform consumers on various consumer issues and related happenings, including our own activities, we publish "Consumer Update", a bi-monthly e-newsletter.
