As per a NASA report, nearly 1,156 forest fires were reported from #India between 13 & 20 February 2023. Not only does this lead to loss of forest tract but it also releases a significant amount of carbon dioxide exacerbating #ClimateChange.

Over 20,000 women died on #Indian roads in 2021. However, the implications of unsafe #transport systems & road infrastructure on female road users is not a well-researched subject. We need this to change. This #InternationalWomensDay2023 let us call on government agencies and decision-makers to understand #RoadSafety problems specific to #women & promote appropriate road safety action plans.

Childhood #Obesity is a serious threat to the health of our children, with India having 14.4 million obese children - the second highest in the world, after China. Our children are consuming too many calories, but not enough nutrition. Childhood obesity paves the way for metabolic syndrome, poor physical health, mental disorders, respiratory problems, & glucose intolerance, all of which will continue into the adult years. Consumption of processed foods is a particular risk factor with sugary beverages, salty chips & all manner of fried foods easily & cheaply available.
