World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2025 | Salem

A commemorative program was held at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Salem, on Monday, 24 November 2025 at 10:30 a.m. as part of CAG’s events marking the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

The event began with a welcome address by Mr. J.M. Boopathi, Founder of the Consumer Rights Movement, who highlighted the importance of road safety awareness and collective responsibility in preventing accidents.

In commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (20.11.2025), an awareness programme was jointly organised by Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) and Shelter Trust at Dr Ambedkar Government Law College.

The event was attended by Dr Kayalvizhi, Principal of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, Mr Neelakandan, trainer from Alert NGO, Mr Mohan from CAG, and Mr Selvam, social worker, and Mr Vishwa, volunteer, representing Shelter Trust.

Listening Workshop| RWA 14 | Parrys George Town

CAG submitted comments on the Draft Amendment 2006

CAG submitted comments on the Draft Amendment to the EIA Notification, 2006, which proposes exempting Common Municipal Solid Waste Management Facilities, including landfills and Waste-to-Energy plants, from prior environmental clearance. CAG’s experience in urban waste, environmental health, and climate governance highlights the need to ensure the framework remains robust, inclusive, and evidence-based to help strengthen the environmental safeguard architecture while enabling effective waste management systems nationwide.
