According to MoRTH, the number of children who lost their lives in road accidents rose from 7,764 in 2021 to 9,528 in 2022. One effective strategy to decrease child fatalities is to establish safe school zones. Thoughtful road design and consistent enforcement of rules around school zones can help reduce injuries to children.

Meenakshi Chaturvedi, an environmentalist at heart and a renewable energy engineer by profession is a Researcher in the Electricity Governance team. She has over 6 years of experience in solar energy, energy storage systems and green energy buildings. She has done her masters in Engineering in Solar Energy from the Institute for Energy Studies, College of Engineering, Anna University where she further worked as a Junior Research Fellow under the MHRD-RUSA funded project. She has also worked in a Solar PV firm and interned at SunEdison. She has published research articles in scientific journals and has a patent as well to her credit. She aspires to contribute to the field of renewable energy towards sustainable power generation and consumption for a cleaner and greener planet.
