Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) in association with the Anmol Foundation is working on a project “Accelerating Clean Energy Transition By Improving Stakeholder Participation For Electricity Governance In India” in Chattisgarh. As part of this, Mr.Sanjay Sharma, Director, Anmol Foundation gave a brief introduction about CAG adding that  CAG is working in five Indian states on promoting electricity rights of consumers.

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) in association with the Consumer Protection Association (CPA) is working on a project “Accelerating Clean Energy Transition By Improving Stakeholder Participation For Electricity Governance In India” in Chattisgarh. Under this project, the  4th local electricity forum meeting was conducted on November 07, 2024 at Jagriti Sanskriti Chakraborty, Agartala. A total of 29 participants from rural households, small traders and agricultural consumers participated.

CAG's Climate Literacy Conference 2024 was a resounding success, marking the launch of FOCUS for Beginners, a climate literacy curriculum designed for primary school children. The event featured keynotes from Education Minister Thiru. Anbul Mahesh Poyyamozhi, along with contributions from various prominent speakers and policymakers.

             Consultation on Developing Speed Management Guidelines for Enhanced Road Safety in Tamil Nadu 

The emergence of smartphones has transformed public transportation in cities such as Chennai. Commuters now have access to various digital tools, such as the MTC’s Chennai Bus Application, to enhance their daily commutes. This report seeks to evaluate how effectively the MTC’s Chennai Bus Application supports its users in their everyday lives and to identify potential improvements for the future.

Road accident deaths in India continue to rise, leading to significant loss of lives and considerable impact on the economy. In 2023 alone, 18,347 road deaths were reported in Tamil Nadu. Beyond loss of life, road accidents impose significant economic burdens on victims and their families, including medical costs and lost productivity.  These challenges are particularly acute for low- and middle-income families.

The United Nations established the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) in 2005, designating the third Sunday of November each year as a day to honour those killed or injured on the roads, along with their families, friends, and communities. Given the alarming rate of road crashes in India, this observance is particularly significant for Indian road users. With the right measures, many of these tragic incidents could have been prevented and this day serves as a reminder for collective responsibility in creating safer roads.

Following our study on patient perspectives on access to hypertension care through PHCs in Tiruvannamalai, this study looks at doctors' perspectives in treating hypertension. The study examines responses from 25 doctors from a cross section of specialties, looking at diagnoses protocols, patient compliance, reported affordability of treatment etc.

CAG’s Energy Clubs are designed to provide students with knowledge about sustainable energy practices and environmental stewardship. This report documents the activities that young members of the Chennai High School, Goyyathope club participated in. They learnt about the effects of light pollution, the importance of energy conservation, energy efficiency audits, environmental pollution from power plants, and the importance of solar energy.
