CAG in association with the Consumer Rights, Education and Awareness Trust (CREAT) is working on a project “Accelerating Clean Energy Transition By Improving Stakeholder Participation For Electricity Governance In India” in KarnatakaThere are five Electricity Supply Companies (ESCOMS] in Karnataka. To reach out to these five ESCOMS, a core group consisting of representatives from consumer groups, civil society organizations and electricity experts in districts was formed.

Manikandan M

Manikandan’s work focuses on promoting energy efficiency and advancing energy transition. His role includes conducting energy audits at government-owned premises, preparing reports and articles on the electricity sector, and leading consumer awareness programmes on sustainable energy practices.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Energy Technology. He previously worked as Assistant Professor and then as Junior Research Fellow at the Institute for Energy Studies, College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.

CAG's survey in Chennai highlights the everyday challenges faced by livelihood cyclists. Cyclists reported a stark lack of safe cycle paths and parking facilities. Better infrastructure and courteous motorists will go a long way to creating safer spaces for our cyclists.
