By law, all public spaces should be accessible by the disabled (Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016). However, this remains only on paper, as we were woefully reminded by Mr. K. Raghuraman (disability activist), who spoke at the second National Pedestrians' Conference. Our public spaces must be designed keeping in mind the dignity of all users. It's time we saw the law in action!

#Recycling is unfortunately touted as the solution to #EndPlasticPollution. Companies want us to believe that as long as plastic is recycled consistently, there is nothing wrong with the vast amounts of plastic they are producing.

In India, nutritional labels on foods indicating high levels of dangerous nutrients (like salt, sugar and fats) are not yet mandatory. These three nutrients are implicated in the increase in incidence of cardiovascular conditions, some types of cancer and diabetes. We need clear food labels to save lives.
